Simon and Charlotte never planned to stay in Goa forever. What started as an escape from Mumbai’s fast-paced life became their true home. They found an old Portuguese house near Majorda and spent five years restoring it. Today, Vivenda Dos Palhacos stands as a place where time slows down, and life unfolds at its own rhythm.
The name translates to 'House of Clowns,' reflecting the playful spirit of its hosts. Every corner of the house has a story, shaped by the siblings’ personal touch. The imposing structure, with its grand façade and sprawling open spaces, is the heart of Vivenda. The interiors blend colonial charm with warmth, featuring high ceilings, vintage furniture, and an inviting atmosphere.
The central stone pool is a haven, especially in the evening. It's a particularly beautiful sight as the birds from the surrounding area return to their nests in the trees around Vivenda. The full-service staff, led by manager Sebastian, is dedicated to ensuring your comfort, complemented by the two resident furry companions. Guests can sip a drink at the quirky Lorry Back Bar or enjoy a set-menu feast of Goan and European flavors.
Vivenda Dos Palhacos has eight distinct rooms, spacious gardens, and inviting common areas that encourage relaxation. Each room has its own personality and theme. The rooms are named after a city that the property owners have visited and loved.
The master bedroom features a stately four-poster bed and a private balcony. A spacious adjoining bathroom includes a restored cast-iron bathtub from the Royal Bombay Yacht Club, offering a touch of vintage luxury. This room is perfect for those seeking grandeur and comfort.

Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Built from the back of a truck, the cozy bar boasts an extensive selection of local gins, whiskies, and the family’s Haywards 5000 beer. Goa’s exciting micro-distillery scene is well represented, and it is a must-visit for drink lovers. The colorful bar is intended to dispense alcoholic and non - alcoholic drinks.
For book lovers, this house is nothing short of paradise. The space is stacked with books, albums, and magazines. Each room, shelf, and table contains a new literary treasure. There are even books to read in the bathroom! Guests are welcome to borrow books from anywhere in the house and sit wherever they prefer and read them.
There’s also a mini store in Vivenda dos Palhacos; lobbies as you wander around. The shop features handpicked antique jewelry, rare clothing, and beautiful fabrics such as scarves, stoles, and mats. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings, all available for sale.
Vivenda dos Palhacos restaurant’s dining section has a 16-seater antique wooden dining table. It is not merely a dining section but a venue for bonding. Meals are served in a way that allows for communal dining, where guests sit around the table, enjoying good food, and swapping travel stories.
