A legacy of the Valley
A 150-year-old home, 'Soednam Zingkha,' was meticulously restored by Penjor and his family in 2007 in the remote Ha Valley of Bhutan. In the 2000s, the Valley used to be frequently visited by trekkers and adventure seekers. However, the introduction of this homestay also attracted cultural wanderers. Managed by a brother and sister duo, Soednam Zingkha takes pride in offering some of the finest local cuisine in the country on its lunch table. Each room possesses a unique character, varying in shape and size from one another. Penjor, along with his wife and his sister, has assumed different responsibilities within the household and readily engages in conversations about life in the Ha Valley and their cherished home.
Soednam Zingkha is featured as a part of 'Anubhav's Bhutan Itinerary.'
The rooms in this heritage are distributed in the two floors of the main old house. Since it is a 150 year old structure expect the rooms to have different sizes and orientation keeping the basic amenities in place. All the rooms have traditional Ha Valley upholstery. The common areas here are where people spend most of their time, especially in the colder months when the bukhari is lit up.
The twin rooms are more spacious than the doubles and are evenly distributed on both the floors. Most of them have garden views.
