Tucked away in the orchard-laden slopes of Kotgarh, Saroga Woods is a story of passion, transformation, and flavors unique to the Himalayas.
Anuradha and Kartik were once corporate professionals in Singapore, leading fast-paced lives in media and branding. But the mountains called, and in 2012, they answered. Trading boardrooms for apple orchards, they built their home in the tranquil village of Saroga, overlooking the snow-capped Himalayas. Here, they founded Kotgarh Fruit Bageecha, creating jams and preserves from the region’s finest produce, keeping Himachal’s fruit heritage alive.
Now, they invite travelers into their home, which is a space consciously designed with warmth, comfort, and a deep love for nature. Whether you’re sipping tea on the balcony, watching the mist roll over the valley, or savoring their handcrafted jams and preserves over breakfast, every moment at Saroga Woods is a celebration of simple, meaningful living.
Their senior cat, Fatty, is part of the welcome committee, ensuring every guest feels at home. For those who appreciate good food, fresh air, and authentic connections, Saroga Woods offers a stay that lingers long after you leave.
Guests get an entire floor to themselves. It has two bedrooms, a gym, and a lounge. A well-stocked library offers books across various genres. Each bedroom comes with a plush queen bed, an en-suite bathroom, and additional comforts like heated floors and bed warmers.
The east-facing room gets the sunlight in the morning. It has uninterrupted views of the Himalayas through its two large windows.

The north-facing room is perfect in summer to laze in. It is right next to the gym with a separate door to access it. There is a window to look at the mountains from.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner (Lunch can be arranged at an extra cost)
Extra Note: The kitchen space can be used for beverages through the day and night.
Third Person/Child: Child above 12 years: 4000/- which also covers the 2 meals.
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Shimla is closer but getting a flight might prove a futile effort. You can fly into Chandigarh, for a more convenient option.
The nearest railway station is Shimla. It is connected by a heritage train from Kalka which takes approximately 6 hours to reach Shimla.
From Chandigarh (via Shimla): Total 200 km, it's a 6-hour road trip.
Ample parking is available near the homestay. During winter it is recommended to bring a 4x4 with prior snow driving experience. There is also an option of hiring local taxis from the town.
