A view to live for
Leaving the touristy Narkanda behind about 20 kms to the north, you reach the picturesque Kotgarh area, known for its fruit orchards. Here in village Saroga you will find perched on the side of a hill, offering stunning views of the greater Himalayas, Anuradha and Kartik’s home - Saroga Woods.
The couple first came as tourists and fell in love with the area. And at 35 they left the corporate world in Singapore and decided to move here and become jam makers. They launched Kotgarh Fruit Bageecha in 2013 under which they sell jams and preserves. Anuradha, Kartik and their senior cat Fatty, have opened their doors to welcome guests in their home that they have consciously and lovingly built. They are well travelled gastronomes and invite you to visit Saroga Woods to experience their Himalayan life and exchange conversations and stories.
The Saroga home is built from top to bottom. The bottom floor is where Kartik and Anuradha live. The guest rooms are on the middle floor along with a library and a small gym. The top floor consists of the dining and living areas.
The east-facing room gets the sunlight in the morning. It has uninterrupted views of the Himalayas through its two large windows.
