Rooted in Simplicity
The Mudhouse Marayoor took shape through the efforts of the mother-daughter duo, Pushpaja, and Roopa. It was born from a need to be close to their roots and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Originally built as a family getaway house, they opened it for guests in 2018 and within a year, the quaint mud cottage was a favorite around the area as Marayoor has all the charm of Munnar but is still away from its tourist crowd. It feels like a sanctuary for nature lovers. Roopa invested her passion for interior designing and decor to beautify the spaces and painstakingly added the many details spotted in every nook and corner of the property. Family members & friends work as a team to convert the space into a memorable experience.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Third Person/Child: Adult: 1800. Child price: 1800/- (6 years and above), Below 5 years - Complementary
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

The Mudhouse is situated in the heart of nature on top of a hill in the Sahyadri Mountain Range and offers a panoramic view of the valley of Marayoor. There are quaint villages surrounded by a sandalwood forest and a river flowing close by.
The cottages are built of mud and natural building materials sourced locally and are constructed and maintained by people from nearby villages.
Extra Initiative: Prakash, the resident guide, takes guests out for sightseeing around the neighborhood. All the food is cooked from fresh local produce and served traditionally on a banana leaf. At night one can enjoy a bonfire with barbeque. 80% of the staff are women and there is a strict no-plastic policy at the property.
