A home is made up of stories and stories are in abundance here at the Magnolia lodge, Almora, especially when ‘Rawat Uncle’ as the town knows him is around. Every January Mr. Rawat the owner of Magnolia comes in from the U.S to be in this ancestral home which is now tastefully restored into a sort of a British lodge.
The common living room cum kitchen of Magnolia comes to life especially in the evenings by the fire place, where Vivek the manager stirs up some tunes on his guitar while the local women cook dinner. The music in the ears, the warmth of fire on the skin and the fragrance of food from across the kitchen takes you to happy place in your mind. The dinner conversations with Rawat uncle about his family history and the construction of Magnolia add a sweet ending to the evening.
Magnolia is less than a hours drive from the famous Kasar Devi temple and the in house vehicle would be happy to take you around on a days excursion as far as Binsar Wildlife sanctuary and back. The mornings are best enjoyed in the verandah facing the Himalayas where the staff would be happy to serve you refills of pahadi tea till it’s time for breakfast. Come to Magnolia for its warmth and leave with a lingering feeling of wanting to come back for more.
The beautiful lodge comes with 4 double bed rooms. All the rooms are situated on the first floor of the building and have fleeting views of the Himalayan range. Two of these are bigger in size and have a huge shared balcony, where a morning tea is best enjoyed from the comfortable chairs, and is best for two couples or a family of 4 adults. The other two rooms are a smaller size but have ample space to spread out your bags for a longer stay. All rooms come with air conditioners which especially come in handy on those chilly winter nights.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast
Extra Note: Single children above 6 years stay in their parents' room with Rs 2000 for an extra bed. Pet charge is Rs. 2000 per pet for the stay.
Third Person/Child: Adult: 2000/- (Note:breakfast inclusive). Child price: 1700/- (13 year and below), 1 child under 6 years stays free in their parents' room on plan, without any extra bed. Driver accommodation is available at Rs 1500 per night, Rs 200 per meal.
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

The access road to Magnolia winds up through the private estate. However to reach the estate gate you would need to meet a personal of Magnolia on the main road who will guide you on his bike to the property. Make sure to call Magnolia directly before check in.
