Picturesque home amidst fruit orchards in the Himalayas
In a quiet village called Thanedhar, Grandma Stokes B&B waits. Tall deodar trees stand guard. Apple orchards stretch around it. The house once belonged to Satyanand Stokes, the man who brought apples here. Now, his great-grandson Vinay and his wife Veena call it home.
Fifteen years ago, they decided to share their home. They opened their doors to travelers. Some rooms overlook the River Sutlej. Others face the mighty snow-covered peaks. A wide deck lets guests soak in the views.
Life here moves with the rhythm of the hills. Vinay and Veena care for their orchard. Chameli, the cook, fills the home with warm meals. Sanju, the handyman, keeps things running. Suman, their trusted help, makes every guest feel welcome.
Matru and Tiklu, the cats, roam freely. Taffy, the dog, wags his tail at every new face. This is a place where guests become family.
Grandma Stokes has six rooms, all within the main house. Two rooms on the lower floor open to a wide terrace. Upstairs, one room faces the village road, while three overlook the valley.
Opening directly onto the huge terrace with the views, these are double bedded comfortable rooms with a lot of personal memorabilia from the family. Individual dining area on this floor.

These rooms with an amazing view of the Sutlej and the Beas valleys have a common bathroom and are ideal for a family of 4. One room is also given with the exclusive access to the toilet after which Vinay does not allot the second room.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Shimla in reality but getting a flight might prove a futile effort. You can fly into Chandigarh, the real closest airport.
The nearest railway station is Shimla. It is connected by a heritage train from Kalka which takes approximately 6 hours to reach Shimla.
Thanedar is, 200km, 6-hour drive from Chandigarh (via Shimla)
The food served on the property is very homely and always accompanied by wholesome portions of fruits.
