Chengappa is a Homestead, somewhere between being home and beautifully short of being a rural farmstead. The doors open to a wide-angle view of a meadow that extends to the nearby forest land. An evening under the starry sky with the sound of Chengappa's water stream might make you want to get a sleeping mat out. Vinu who is a local Coorg boy hails from Bangalore where he ran his local Coorgi restaurant successfully for a decade before it was perhaps time to come back to his roots. The initial lot of travellers to Chengappa were none other than the foodies who were regulars at his restaurant. Vinu is an avid enthusiast of car racing and rock music and lives with his two helpers in the Chengappa homestead, where the feeling of exclusivity stays with you throughout your stay.

Chengappa has three very well-sized and placed rooms all in the main house where your host lives. Two have a front view of the fields and the water body. The third, a bigger room has a verandah and opens to the plantation on the entrance side of the property.
The room is placed at either side of the main entrance. You walk out of the entrance and into the meadows and the fields.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.

Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Bangalore though a little further away (5hours) from Kannur (2 hours) and Mysore (3 hours) are the best connected to the rest of the country.
Both Mysore and Kannur are 2 - 3 hours away.

Chengappa Homestead is full of character. His lounge area includes an in-depth display of all the F1 car racing heroes, and a well-laid-out sitting area with old rock music vinyl records.
The Water body is unique to Chengappa which even after giving out half its irrigation capacity has a steady 5 feet depth of water for a quick swim on a warm afternoon.
