<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nSoon, Shyamala Aunty showed us around the property, she walked us around her backyard, where she has planted a variety of herbal, fruiting, and\u00a0 floral plants. She also explained how these plants are a part of their daily meals, adding both flavor and nutrition. As we walked a few more steps, she showed us the natural water pool, which is filled with turquoise blue water during peak monsoons. After seeing her beautiful plantation and the natural pool, it was time to see the property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entering through the living room, we were greeted by walls adorned with family photographs and an old wooden armchair, adding a touch of nostalgia. Further in, there was a prayer room, where soft religious music was played and the aroma of camphor filled the air. Adjacent to this is the dining area, which is connected to a kitchen where Shyamala Aunty cooks her delectable dishes. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, each with its own unique charm.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Royal Thamburan<\/strong>: This one was my personal favorite. With windows on three sides, the room offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The highlight of the room is undoubtedly the antique swing bed. The room is thoughtfully equipped with a reading lamp, a wardrobe, a writing desk, and an attached bathroom, ensuring that comfort and convenience are never compromised.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Classic Thamburati<\/strong>: This room overlooks a 120-year-old granary and is situated above the farm. It\u2019s equipped with a wardrobe, a writing desk, and an attached bathroom, offering a cozy and functional space.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n As we settled into our rooms, we decided to take a nap before heading out to explore the surroundings. The warm blankets, with saree-stitching on one side, covered us in comfort, as we drifted into a peaceful sleep. An hour later, Shyamala Aunty woke us up, as she had planned for us a few experiences around Thalathoor Homestay.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n As we got ready to head out, the delicious aroma of spices wafted through the air, making us tempt for the feast being prepared for dinner. The evening was filled with cultural experiences and local sightseeing. As dusk fell, we made our way back to the homestay, guided by the delicious smell of freshly cooked fish and rice. Shyamala Aunty had prepared an array of local delicacies for us, which I must, mention were\u00a0the highlight of our stay. The dinner was a true culinary delight and a must-try for anyone who loves traditional South Indian cuisine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thalathoor Homestay in Kasargod is more than just a place to stay; it\u2019s an experience that feels like coming home. If you ever find yourself travelling through South India, I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Thalathoor Homestay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n My stay at Thalathoor Homestay was a beautiful reminder of the comfort and warmth that can be found in the most unexpected places.
